PROGRAM NOTES:

[NOTE: All quotations are by Terence McKenna.]

The culture cannot evolve faster than the language. The language is the flashlight that shows the path.”

The psychedelic universe, whatever it is, is the major datum of experience. It’s larger than this planet. Nobody knows how large it is. The further in you go the bigger it gets. We don’t know what to make of something like that. It’s the reverse of our expectations.”

Psychedelic telepathy is you ‘see’ what I mean.”

The testimony of DMT, for me, is that there is a nearby dimension, teeming with intelligences, that from one of the more conservative perspectives seems like an ecology of souls.”

Look at the reputation they gave him. [Giordano] Bruno without the pyre is a whiskey priest laying waste to the maids of Umbria.”

The fungi became, or is for some mysterious reason still to be
discovered, a pipeline into a mind, an entelechy, which we can only image as feminine and can only associate somehow to the environment, to the ecosystem. This is the Gaian mind. This is what the goddess really is. The goddess is a network of connective intelligence that is operating on this planet.”

Thank you, as always, Lorenzo. Your tireless work is hugely appreciated.

One thing that has long bothered me about Terence’s language-made-visual rap is that it seems so ethno-centric. By which I mean, it goes along with the whole ‘hegemony of the visual’ character of the west.

Just wanted to finally get that off my chest and into the ether ( feels better already ).
    Love Terence, Love the Salon.

I just wanted to leave a comment about how much I’ve come to love TM and the Salon. And I want to express my gratitude to Lorenzo. I tried purchasing “Genesis Generation” from Amazon but the download repeatedly failed. I will try again. Nevertheless, thank you for all the hard work. I’ve come to look forward to Lorenzo’s introductions as well as the content. It occurred to me today that William Gibson may be an interesting guest for the Salon. And maybe somebody who is a Philip K. Dick scholar, as Terence once mentioned how he felt like he was living in a reality similar to a Dick novel. Much love, Lorenzo! Long live the Psychedelic Salon!

P.S. TM is also hilarious. Like a genius stand up comic riffing funny freestyle. In an iconoclastic way similar to Lenny Bruce but even funnier. And also less angry. :)

One of my favorites yet. I can’t believe we are fortunate enough to be hearing these talks! Particularly interesting hearing TM talk about Christianity and navigating tough places…. Thanks so much.

I definitely recommend Ubuntu Studio Lorenzo, it has really upped my audio work experience. also it follows with the story line “the future is hacked”

I love the idea of a Lorenzo book summary episode!

…Just when we think there is not much left for Terence to show us, Lorenzo pulls out another gemstone for the world to marvel over! ;) On this quote “The testimony of DMT, for me, is that there is a nearby dimension, teeming with intelligences, that from one o the more conservative perspectives seems like an ecology of souls.” looks like your missing the letter “f” in “of the more conservative…”

Leon, one thing Dennis mentioned once is that what they really meant when talking about the ‘visual language’ experienced in hyperspace is that its not only visual, but experienced through all senses in a state of synesthesia…(along with the understanding/idea complex’s invloved)
